Worked it out now - it wasn't a blockage, but the white valve/spring underneath which had been pushed in.

I purchased the travelling sprinkler from bunning baldivis took game assembled as per instructions the thing will not move stopper underneath is fully out the sprinkler head is rotating in high or low nothing
I am not too happy with this
