Our new WX1 Tap Timer and Wi-Fi Hub allows you to set up automatic adjustments, so you don’t have to worry about your Tap Timer watering when it is already raining.
Our WX Range is run with Holman Home, this app has a range of smart automations and features you can use. After you have completed the installation and pairing process of your WX1 Tap Timer and Wi-Fi Hub, you can look at the scheduling options. We recommend setting up your required start times before you look into the automations.
Once your start times are set up, if you are not using a Smart Moisture Sensor, this is a great way of ensuring you are not watering when it is still raining.
Step 1:
Head back to the home screen of Holman Home and click on SMART, click on the GREEN PLUS in the top right-hand corner to create a new automation. You will then select the automation you are making, in this case WHEN WEATHER CHANGES.
Step 2:
After selecting the condition, choose which 'forecast' you wish to control your WX1 Tap Timer. For rain; click WEATHER and then set your location. You will need to give Holman Home access to your location for the integrated weather services to be accurate.
You can set the forecast to follow your device, or if you go to Home > Me > Home Management > My Home > Home Location > you can set the forecast to always come from your desired / home location.
Step 3:
Select RAINY to stop your WX1 Tap Timer from watering when its raining. After you click RAINY, press the NEXT button to choose the correct device. Click on WX1 TAP TIMER, then click WATERING DELAY.
Step 4:
Here you can choose between 24, 38 and 72 hour watering delay. We have selected 24H. Then click SAVE to confirm. You have now set up a watering delay of 24 hours when it is raining! Click NEXT and SAVE.
Step 5:
If you do not wish to use the automation straight away, click NO. If you do, click YES. All of your automations can be found under AUTOMATION in the SMART tab. Or on the Home Screen.
There are also many other delay and watering automations you can choose from, if you click to create a new automation, then click WHEN DEVICE STATUS CHANGES, there are a whole range of different options you can use to control your watering. This includes adjusting watering when the soil moisture or temperature reach your desired level (with the Smart Moisture Sensor) or when you have used a certain amount of litres of water in one watering. If you wish to water using voice activation, you can set this up through the TAP TO RUN section.
There you have it, you’ve successfully set up a watering automation with your WX1 Tap Timer. If you have any questions or any other tutorials you’d like to see, please let us know in the comments below.
