To correctly set up interval watering we need to establish that today, the day of setting the program is not included in the day count. So effectively day 1 is tomorrow.
If you had a 2 day interval this would mean setting up and waiting as follows:
- Set the program today
- Tomorrow is day 1 – no watering
- The day after is day 2 – watering
The timer will then water every other day (every 2 days) thereafter.
While there is an initial ‘extra day’ to wait for the watering to start, the 2 day interval will result in watering every other day.
For example:
Set the watering interval today 5 April 2023 for 2 Days, device is expected to run on the highlighted dates.
5 Apr Day 0
6 Apr Day 1
7 Apr Day 2
8 Apr Day 1
9 Apr Day 2
10 Apr Day 1
11 Apr Day 2
In a BX2/4 you can have each zone operating its own interval program – the most important thing being no program timing can clash (so each zone must have a different time where they are due to water on the same day)
BX4 testing with interval watering using Zone 1 and Zone 3:
10 March 2023 Friday
-
- Set Zone 1 to water once every 4 Days at 8:40am for 10 minutes.
- Set Zone 3 to water once every 5 Days at 9:00am for 15 minutes.
- Both zones did not water today
- ZONE 1 is expected to water on TUESDAY at 8:40am for 10 minutes.
- ZONE 3 is expected to water on WEDNESDAY at 9:00am for 15 minutes.
14 March 2023 Tuesday
-
- Zone 1 watered today at 8:40 am for 10 minutes.
- Zone 3 did not water today as expected.
15 March 2023 Wednesday
-
- Zone 3 watered at 9:00am for 15 minutes.
