Our range of electronic Weather Stations use a radio frequency (RF) to connect the main display and the outdoor vane. We'd recommend ensuring your Weather Station components are within a 50m range of each other, but there are some other things you can also check:
There may be too many physical barriers between the main display (inside) and the outdoor vane
- Consider the amount and thickness of barriers (such as walls) between the main display and the outdoor vane
- Try moving the main display to an area closer to the outdoor vane
- Check your settings to ensure the main display and outdoor vane are operating on the same frequency
- Try resetting your Weather Station components
- Try replacing the batteries in both main display and the outdoor vane
- Always use good quality alkaline batteries
- Note that extreme temperatures can affect battery performance
Incorrect batteries may have been used inside the unit
- Ensure the batteries in your Weather Station components are high-quality alkaline batteries, and not rechargeable types. (Only the Helios WS5095 has a rechargeable battery at this time - please only use genuine spares).
- Battery leak and related damage can destroy terminals (this is a WS5070):
The outdoor vane may need to be re-synchronised to the main display
For the WS5029 Wireless data centre:
Quick Re-sync
Press and hold the 'alarm' button on the back of the main display for 3 seconds, to re-sync to the outdoor vane.
Hard Reset
- Remove both sets of batteries
- Wait for 30 minutes
- Replace the batteries on the main display
- Replace the batteries on the outdoor vane
- Allow some time for the units to find each other and re-sync
For the WS5092 Zephyr Wi-Fi Weather Station:
Quick Re-sync
Press and hold the 'search' button on the top of the main display for 5 seconds, to re-sync to the outdoor vane
Hard reset - should not be needed to reconnect this weather station
For the WS5095W Helios Wi-Fi Weather Station:
Quick Re-Sync
Press and hold the 'search' button on the back of the main display for 5 seconds, to re-sync to the outdoor sensor
If they are unable to reconnect, press the button on the outdoor vane and hold it for a few seconds - you'll see the red LED flash repeatedly, after this press 'search', to have both the outdoor vane broadcasting and the main display searching.
Hard reset - should not be needed to reconnect this weather station
