Your new Telstra Gen 3 modem has new features and updates which are not being used by all devices just yet.
To get your Holman devices connected we’ll need to log into the Admin console for the modem and adjust the settings on the 2.4gHz band:
- Use the Telstra IP gateway to access the modem settings
- Under the 'Wi-Fi' menu, toggle to split the bands (if they're not already showing 'split on')
- Change the security on the 2.4gHz from WPA2-WPA3 (combined) to WPA2 only - this will allow your Holman devices to connect
Please note: WPA2 is used by Gen 2 modems and is still secure. The new mixed WPA mode or WPA3 mode will stop 2.4gHz devices on WPA2 from connecting. The 'split' toggle in this new modem allows you to see both bands as separate networks.
Once you have the split toggled on and WPA2 set for the 2.4gHz network, then you should be able to connect your Holman devices in EZ mode – remember to remove the devices from Holman Home prior to reconnecting. We recommend to select ‘disconnect’ and not use 'disconnect and wipe' – this way your settings saved in the cloud server will come back to your device after it's reconnected.
Please note: Scenes (formerly called Smarts) are not able to be saved and will need to be entered for each device.
Should you have any further problems, please call the Holman Customer Support team on 1300 716 188 - they're available from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 3.30pm (Perth local time).
