Why Is My Holman Wi‑Fi Device Showing Offline?
Your Holman Wi‑Fi device may appear offline in the Holman Home app for several common reasons.
Wi‑Fi Connection Issues
- Slow or unstable internet can cause devices to show offline, especially during setup.
- Distance from your router may weaken the signal — devices near the edge of the Wi‑Fi range are more likely to disconnect.
- Poor signal strength can result in intermittent dropouts, failed program updates, or automations not triggering.
- Physical interference such as walls, furniture, water features, or recent layout changes can impact Wi‑Fi performance.
💡 Tip: If you can’t move the device closer to your router, a 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi range extender placed midway between the router and device can improve reliability.
RF (Radio Frequency) Communication Issues
Some Holman products use low‑frequency RF signals to communicate between paired devices. This can affect:
- WX tap timers and the Wi‑Fi Hub (including WX moisture sensors)
- Helios Weather Station and Display Panel
- Zephyr Weather Station
RF signal interference can be caused by:
- Concrete walls, tinted or double‑glazed windows, aluminium shutters
- Dense or wet plant growth
- Other electronic devices (e.g. baby monitors, microwaves, or nearby 917 MHz devices)
Reducing Interference
- Improve line of sight between paired devices where possible.
- Position the Wi‑Fi Hub closer to the WX tap timer while keeping it indoors.
- For weather stations, consider repositioning the sensor or display panel to an area with less obstruction.
Improving signal strength and reducing interference will help keep your devices online and your automations running reliably.
