Replacing the Main Hose (for Pre‑July 2019 Reels)
Note: These instructions apply only to hose reels manufactured before July 2019. Later models do not have this feature.
Steps to Replace the Main Hose
1. Lock the Hose in Place
- Lift the viewing panel.
- Pull the hose out to its full extension.
- Ensure the retraction wheel locks, preventing the hose from auto‑retracting.
2. Remove the Viewing Panel
- For easier access to the internal mechanism, remove the viewing panel completely.
3. Insert the Locking Bars
- Insert the locking bars into the nearest secure holes on the auto wheel.
- Ensure both bars (one on each side) are seated firmly before continuing.
4. Remove the Hose Clamp
- Unscrew both sides of the clamp holding the hose onto the auto retraction wheel.
- Remove the clamp and screws and set them aside safely.
5. Remove the Internal Hose Clip
- Take off the white plastic clip from the internal hose connector.
6. Detach the Hose Connector
- Disconnect the hose connector from the quick‑release snap‑on fitting.
7. Unscrew the Hose Connector
- Unscrew the connector from the hose.
- Keep all parts together to avoid losing small components.
8. Remove the Old Hose
- Pull the old hose back through the auto‑retraction guide hole.
9. Feed in the New Hose
- Thread the new hose through the guide hole, ready for attachment.
10. Reattach Components
- Reconnect the hose connector.
- Push the connector back onto the white plastic adaptor.
- Replace the hose clamp and screw it securely back into position.
11. Remove the Locking Bars
- Take the locking bars out of the retraction wheel.
- Store them inside the hose reel unit.
12. Release the Auto‑Retract Mechanism
- Gently pull the hose to release the locking mechanism.
- The reel should begin automatically winding the hose back into the unit.
When complete:
The hose reel should look like the image referenced—fully retracted and ready for storage.
