Important:
Zones will never run at the same time. They run sequentially, one after the other, starting from the set start time.
Get familiar with your timer.
Before you start trying to program your Quikdial, just spend some time to understand the information on the screen and how the dial operates.
You will not need to use the ON / OFF button at all during set up.
When the batteries are first installed, you will see the CURRENT TIME as 00:00 on the screen and the screen will occasionally change to the “NEXT WATERING’ screen.
The next watering screen shows a summary of the next Start that will run.
By default, this is;
- Start Time: 7:30am
- Every Day
- Zone I
You will see the screen change to this then back to the CURRENT TIME.
Roll the orange dial and see what changes (back or forward, it will not matter).
If you roll the dial clockwise, ABOVE THE LINE in the top left corner you will see, 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 and then the CURRENT TIME screen.
For each of the of the Starts 1 to 4 you will see a summary of that program.
- Whether it is ON or OFF
- The set Start Time
- The Zones selected to run at that Start Time
- The Days of the Week it will operate on
Note: The only information not shown in the summary is the “Run Time” which is the duration it will water each Zone.
Set the Current Time
Roll the dial and when you see the CURRENT TIME come on the screen, flashing, click the orange dial. The first 00 will flash, this is the current HOUR, roll the dial to set the current hour. When that is correct, click the dial again and the second 00 will flash, this is the minutes, roll the dial to set the current mins.
Once that is set, click the dial again, you will now see the DAY OF THE WEEK in the bottom right hand corner, again, roll the dial to select the current day and click the dial to end.
If you need to go back to the hours or minutes after moving on, you will need to start again from the beginning.
Decide what you want to program
It may be helpful to write down what you plan to program, the boxes in the bottom left of the screen will tell you what you need to set.
- START TIME
- RUN TIME
- SET DAY
- ZONE
Remember that you can set multiple Zones for the same start time and they will run one after another.
We will refer to an example program which will be
- Start 1
- START TIME: 6:30AM
- RUN TIME: 20 MIN
- DAYS: Mon, Wed, and Fri.
- Zones: ZONE I, ZONE II, and ZONE III (A 2 outlet model will only have ZONE I and ZONE II)
- ON
Program your Start Time
Note: During this process, your Quikdial will default back to the home screen after 30 seconds of inactivity.
To change the programme, or Start Time, roll the dial until the Start, top left of the screen, that you want to change is selected (1 for our example).
Click the dial once and the box goes around START TIME in the bottom left.
Click the dial again, the HOUR will flash, turn the dial to set the hour (e.g. 6am) once set, click the dial, the mins will flash, roll the dial to set the mins (e.g. 30).
Once this is set, click the dial and the box moves to the RUN TIME position.
Click the dial once and you can roll the dial to set the RUN TIME (e.g. 20mins).
Once that is set, click the dial again, the box moves to the SET DAY position. All days are displayed with the line below each day flashing.
Click the dial once, the line under Monday remains flashing, you can click the dial to remove Monday or roll to the next day if you want to keep Monday. Roll the dial to move to Tuesday, click the dial to remove Tuesday. If the space is blank, then that day has been turned off.
Do this for all days you want to remove, leaving ONLY the days you wish to water on the display (E.g. Mon Wed Fri). To add a day back, roll the dial until the line is under that day’s position, click the dial to add it back.
Once the days you want are selected, roll the dial again until you see the line under all the days flashing, click the dial and the box will move to ZONE.
With the box around ZONE, click the dial once, you will see ZONE I with the line underneath flashing. ZONE I is already selected. To unselect ZONE 1, click the dial and the line will move position.
To keep ZONE I, turn the dial and the line will move position. Like the days of the week, if the space is blank then that zone is turned off.
With the line in the next position, click the dial to add ZONE II, roll the dial and click the dial to add or remove zones.
Once you have selected all the zones you want to water (e.g. ZONE I, II & III) roll the dial until you see the flashing line under ALL ZONE POSITIONS (regardless of whether they are blank or not) and click the dial once.
At this point, you have programmed one of your start times. Roll the dial until ON is flashing at the top of your screen and click in the dial to confirm.
If you wish to set a different RUN TIME for each outlet, you will need to set each zone under a different START TIME.
For example, if you wish to run ZONE 1 for 10mins and ZONE 2 for 20 mins, you will need to set different START times for each.
