Check Water Pressure Before Choosing a Tap Timer
Before installing any Tap Timer, it’s important to check that your water pressure is suitable for the product.
Recommended Pressure Range
Most tap timers are designed to operate on standard household tap pressure, which is typically:
- 200–600 kPa
This pressure range allows the timer to open and close correctly and ensures reliable watering performance.
Why Water Pressure Matters
If your water pressure is too low, the tap timer may:
- Fail to turn on or off properly
- Not deliver enough water to your irrigation system
- Operate inconsistently or not at all
Using a Low-Pressure Water Source
If your water comes from a low-pressure source, such as:
- Gravity-fed tanks
- Some rainwater systems
- Low-pressure pumps
You may need to use a specific low-pressure Tap Timer that is designed to work under reduced pressure conditions. We only produce ONE low pressure tap timer, this is the CO1601

Tip
Always check both:
- The pressure rating of your water source, and
- The recommended pressure range listed on the Tap Timer packaging or product page
This will help ensure compatibility and smooth operation from the start.
